ASG Names Chris Kimm As CCO

Former Data Center Coalition Chair expands his role to lead client engagement across ASG’s site development, financial, engineering, and power advisory work

ASHBURN, Va., Oct. 21, 2026 – ASG, the advisory firm working at the intersection of energy, power, and data center infrastructure, today named Chris Kimm Chief Client Officer. Kimm, who joined ASG in June 2026 as Senior Vice President, Client and Solutions Management, will continue his work in ASG’s core data center site development business. In his expanded role, he will also lead client engagement and project delivery across the firm’s financial, engineering, and power advisory work as ASG scales to meet growing demand from developers, operators, and investors.

“Our clients are making high-stakes decisions on timelines set by utilities and regulators, and they need an advisor who can carry that work from strategy through delivery,” Jarrett Appleby, CEO of ASG, said. “Chris has run data centers at global scale, led the customer organization at Equinix and chaired the Data Center Coalition. He understands what our clients are up against because he has sat in their seat.”

Kimm brings more than 30 years of experience running data centers, networks and the teams that serve their customers, all at scale. He spent eight years at Equinix, most recently as Senior Vice President, Global Customer Care and Experience, where he led Customer Success, Customer Support, Service Delivery and Customer Communications across the company’s global footprint. He drove CEO-sponsored transformation programs that raised customer Net Promoter Scores, made service delivery faster and more predictable and reduced churn. Before that, as Senior Vice President, Americas Data Center Operations, he led more than 1,600 employees across more than 100 data centers in seven countries.

Kimm has also represented the data center industry in public policy for years. He served five years on the Board of Directors of the Data Center Coalition, the membership association of data center owners and operators, including three and a half years as Chair. In that role he engaged policymakers at the local, state, and federal levels on data center development, experience that maps directly to ASG’s work on community engagement, utility regulation and large-load interconnection.

“Power access now shapes every data center decision, from site selection to financing to construction schedules,” Kimm said. “ASG’s clients bring us questions that cut across regulation, engineering, and capital at the same time. My job is to make sure every engagement delivers clear answers on the timeline those decisions demand leveraging all the resources of ASG.

“In addition,” Kimm said, “Today’s projects need to leverage best practices in community engagement and stakeholder management to win needed approvals and to develop projects that are win-win for developers and the communities where data centers are built. ASG has deep expertise in this work and is committed to helping our clients through what can be a very difficult path to approval.”

Before Equinix, Kimm spent 21 years with Verizon and its predecessor companies, including UUNET, WorldCom and MCI. In a series of vice president level roles, he led global technical support for enterprise, government, and wholesale customers, post-sales client services for more than 140,000 enterprise accounts, and network field operations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. In his final role at Verizon, he led a technical support team for the Verizon Wireline consumer and mass business organization, delivering support excellence to more than 5 million customers. Across his career, he has led teams on five continents, including organizations of up to 6,500 people. Kimm is based in Ashburn, Virginia.
